How to request this

1. Confirm United cancelled or significantly changed the flight and what you accepted.
2. Use the refund form for the unused fare to original payment. A travel certificate is a traveler choice on the reviewed form.
3. Send documented expenses to Customer Care, not as a second fare-refund request.
4. United’s own 20-day versus 20-business-day wording is inconsistent. For DOT enforcement use 7 business days for credit cards and 20 calendar days for other payments.
